About the Role
As a key technology leader, you will serve as the chief technical steward for our nextgeneration
patient engagement data platform. This platform is designed to automate internal
workflows, unlock actionable insights from healthcare data, enable interoperability, and
enhance patient and pharmacy engagement at scale.
This role requires a visionary thinker and enterprise architect who can bridge technology and
business, driving the platform s strategic direction, aligning cross-functional teams, and
ensuring technical excellence within a complex, regulated healthcare environment. You will
work closely with executive leadership, product owners, clinical and operational
stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver cutting-edge, scalable, and compliant solutions
that shape the future of healthcare data technology.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Technology Leadership:
Define and own the end-to-end technology vision and roadmap for the healthcare data
platform, championing innovation to solve complex healthcare challenges while
meeting regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.).
Align technical architecture with business strategy and customer-centric outcomes.
Platform Architecture & Design:
Architect a secure, scalable, and extensible data platform encompassing ingestion
pipelines, data warehouses, analytics layers, and external API interfaces. Incorporate
cloud-native architectures leveraging Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
Ensure design supports interoperability with EHRs, claims, lab systems, and thirdparty
data sources using industry standards and clinical vocabularies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with business leaders, product management, data science, clinical,
compliance, and operations teams to translate healthcare use cases and regulatory
requirements into clear technical strategies and deliverables.
Serve as the primary technical liaison in executive discussions, providing input on
feasibility, risk, and innovation opportunities.
Engineering Team Leadership & Mentorship:
Lead, mentor, and empower engineering teams in agile delivery, high code quality,
security best practices, and continuous improvement. Promote a culture of technical
excellence, innovation, and accountability.
Guide hands-on development for complex components, validate critical design
decisions, and resolve escalated technical challenges.
Compliance, Security & Risk Management:
Embed robust healthcare compliance and security frameworks in platform design,
including data privacy, auditability, and risk mitigation aligned with HIPAA, SOC 2,
and other relevant standards.
Collaborate with infosec teams on vulnerability management, identity and access
management (e.g., Duende Identity Server, Microsoft Entra ID), and continuous
compliance monitoring.
DevOps & Infrastructure Automation:
Define and oversee implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code
(Terraform), observability (Datadog, Sumologic, OpsGenie), and automated testing
frameworks across microservices and data pipelines. Also require exp with Containerization

Technology Evaluation & Vendor Management:
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, cloud services (GKE, Cloud Storage,
Vertex AI, etc.), and third-party tools (Apigee API Gateway, SonarQube, Snyk) to
optimize platform performance, cost, and security. Manage external partnerships and
vendor solutions as necessary.
Performance Metrics & Business Alignment:
Establish and track key technical and operational KPIs to ensure platform reliability,
scalability, and contribution to business objectives. Present regular updates and
technical insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
20+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with 10+ years in
solution/enterprise architecture and technical leadership.
Proven expertise in building large-scale healthcare data platforms, with deep
knowledge of healthcare data standards, clinical vocabularies, and compliance
requirements.
Strong experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred, AWS and Azure experience
a plus), data architectures, event streaming, and data mesh concepts.
Hands-on skills in Java (backend microservices), Python (data pipelines, Airflow),
and SQL (BigQuery, Cloud SQL, ETL).
Experience leading cloud-native Kubernetes environments (GKE) and managing
modern data infrastructure components like ClickHouse, Apache Airflow, dbt, and
Vertex AI.
Demonstrated leadership in managing API lifecycle and security using API gateways
(Apigee) and modern identity providers.
Familiarity with DevOps tooling: Terraform, Jenkins, Google Cloud Platform Cloud Build, SonarQube,
Snyk, Tenable.
Strong knowledge of data analytics platforms and visualization tools such as Power
BI.
Proven mentor and team leader with experience in cross-functional agile
environments.
Nice to Have
Prior senior technology leadership experience in healthcare technology companies.
Experience with payer-provider integrations and clinical analytics solutions.
Exposure to machine learning pipelines and AI infrastructure in healthcare.
