The Director, Cloud Engineer Principal - Compute & Container role will provide the expertise required to deliver enterprise grade compute and container services across all three Cloud providers in order to meet current and future needs of critical workloads such as Trading which rely heavily on compute and container services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Domain architect for a specific cloud domain (i.e. compute), across all services provided by the 3 CSP's within the respective domain (i.e. ec2, ecs, ecs fargate, lambda, gce, cloud run, functions, image bakeries, etc...)
• As Domain architect they are responsible for either creating the design for Schwab's opinionated implementation of each service or guiding tech leads or engineers in creating the design.
• Co-Chair the domain specific Special Interest Group (SIG) which acts as a community based product management function, responsible for dispositioning feature requests from customers, defining the long term roadmap for each service in the domain and setting relative priority for delivery of features.
• Act as Technical Product Owner, accountable for defining the work required from the engineering scrum team via story creation and grooming and for ensuring the work delivered by the engineering scrum team for a feature or release meets requirements.
• Act as SME for the services in the domain, assisting customers to understand the technologies when necessary and how those technologies integrate with the broader cloud platform.
• The Principal Engineer for Compute and Container is also responsible for increasing initial quality of releases by driving maturity in automated testing and other continuous improvement activities.
• Mentoring engineering scrum team members.
