Title : QA Lead

Location : Groton CT

Must be heavy manual testing

Requirements:

• Hands-on manual testing experience
• Industry knowledge within Software Quality
• Audit, Testing, Writing, Test Strategy experience
• Understanding of quality test scripts
• Experience being on a team that s been a part of a test strategy
• Bachelor s degree
• 5+ years of experience within QA
• Ability to be on site 3x/week for first couple of months
• Then can flex to 1-2/week

Day to day:

• Making changes to custom code within Siemens Teamcenter
• Not on commercial side, its unique to only their world (given APIs and back door to make changes to the product)
• Manual testing
• Some automation (maybe 5% - Amanda Scotts team) within robotics but mostly manual
• Not testing each and every product
• When test script comes in, follow particular process and strategy
• First 60-90 days
• Evaluate the environment now
• Then, use expertise to document
• Some test strategies are documented but looking for a 30k mile overview company wide
• Finding a common denominator for the company to follow
• Then grow from there tap into their expertise in the field

Why the need:

• Establishing a formalized QA strategy
• Has been trying to refocus test group - right now its 15 hourly test engineers (moreso people who have hands on experience - not really engineers)
• They review and do regression testing
• Written by end users - write change request -
• I want to change the way this software behaves, end users put in change request - goes to developers, they change it then the end user writes test scrips (knows product better than anyone) do a functional test script, developer develops the change, then gives it to this group to do regression test to make sure changes don t negatively affect anything else (could it affect someone else
