Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and resilient cloud and hybrid network infrastructures. This pivotal role will drive our digital transformation efforts and ensure seamless connectivity across our enterprise systems, enabling a cutting-edge cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and Implement: Design and maintain Azure-based network solutions, including Virtual Networks (VNets), Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateway.
  • Hybrid Connectivity Management: Implement and manage seamless hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and Azure utilizing tools such as Azure Network Watcher and Azure Bastion.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance, availability, and security using both Azure-native tools and third-party solutions.
  • Security Collaboration: Work closely with the Systems Administrator and Barracuda XDR SOC to enforce robust network security policies, including Network Security Groups (NSGs), Application Security Groups (ASGs), and Azure Private Link.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Support Azure landing zone deployments and contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices utilizing Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve complex network issues across cloud and on-premises environments with efficient problem-solving techniques.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Innovate and Recommend: Stay abreast of Azure networking innovations and recommend enhancements to improve performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Cost Optimization: Implement strategies for cost containment and optimization of Azure storage and compute resources.
  • Data Protection and Continuity: Ensure effective data protection, backup, and archiving solutions are in place and regularly tested, while developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans for business continuity.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Must live in Greater Cincinnati OH or Dayton OH Areas
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on managing Azure environments.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking services and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, and Azure Policy.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, Terraform).
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Network Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly preferred.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, or IBM Instana.
