Description

SAIC is the premier Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integrator with expertise in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment to accelerate decision making and increase mission success. This new program is part of a broader effort to provide a tactical operational picture aligned with the JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to adapt to new and emerging threats. This next-generation approach shall employ the latest advancements across the technology spectrum and distributed architectures to deliver a cutting-edge approach.

SAIC is seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer with a focus on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support our United States Air Force customer. The position requires an individual with strong systems engineering and MBSE skills. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, teamwork skills, and experience with DoD projects. They will be expected to balance and adjust work priorities to meet project deadlines effectively.

The Systems Engineer will apply systems engineering principles, systems modeling, product lifecycle management, modeling and simulation, and related techniques, tools, and methodologies to construct, steward, curate, and leverage end-to-end digital content for client programs. They will design and implement digital thread strategies to connect and synchronize data across the entire product development lifecycle. This position supports the System Engineering Team, which is designed to enable rapid flow of capability, design efforts, MBSE, modeling and simulation, and maintain Reference Implementation/Architecture using Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) 3 to 9 months ahead of the capability providers. These teams' outputs will enable the solutions roadmap for the capability providers and ensure dependencies, priorities, and adaptations are aligned for rapid development flow.

Qualifications
  • TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active DOD secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and architecture frameworks such as Unified Architecture (UAF) or DoDAF Framework.
  • Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, Rational Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or other comparable tools.
  • Proficient with Digital Engineering tools and procedures, specifically Cameo and Teamwork Cloud.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering documentation, including concepts of operations, interface control documents, and verification and test.
  • Experience in the development of digital twins using Integration Tools such as Ansys ModelCenter.
  • Experience in bi-directional requirements traceability and verification using DOORS.
  • Ability to provide technical direction on the development, integration, and use of MBSE models.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to balance and adjust work priorities to meet project deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience modeling hardware performance.
  • Experience working with the Cameo Enterprise Architect tool and Ansys ModelCenter.
  • Experience with requirements tools such as DOORS.
  • Familiarity with Aras Innovator or similar PLM tools.
  • Familiarity with DoDAF and UAF Frameworks.
  • Experience with DoD program management.
  • Familiarity with the Run-Ahead Team concept for rapid capability development and integration.


Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
