Novacoast Staffing is assisting an industry-leading organization in the full-service restaurant sector in their search for a Sr. IT Security Engineer. This crucial role supports maintaining high digital security and compliance standards, which are integral to our client's commitment to excellence in guest satisfaction and quality service.

Contract Term: 6 Months (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Fully Remote

Hourly Pay Rate: $60-$70

Salary Upon Conversion: $120,000 - $140,000 annually

Job Summary:

The Sr. IT Security Engineer will be instrumental in fortifying the security framework of a prominent full-service restaurant group. You will deploy and manage various security solutions, protecting networks, systems, and data from contemporary threats. Your technical expertise and strategic insight will ensure security protocols support the business's comprehensive objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Infrastructure Implementation:

  • Deploy, maintain, and oversee security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption technologies, to ensure the safety of our digital assets.
  • Design and implement defenses against a range of cyber threats, including malware, ransomware, and phishing.
  • Secure cloud resources in line with industry best practices and CSA guidelines.
  • Manage and optimize the performance of security tools and technologies.

Security Operations:

  • Monitor security systems to detect and manage any breaches or unauthorized access.
  • Employ SIEM and automation technologies for real-time threat detection and response.
  • Perform regular security audits and penetration tests to identify and rectify vulnerabilities.
  • Stay informed of new security threats and solutions to propose and implement enhancements.

Incident Response:

  • Lead incident response activities, ensuring effective investigation, containment, and recovery from security incidents.
  • Undertake forensic analysis to uncover the root cause of incidents and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain and update incident response plans and protocols.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Must have a professional cyber security certification such as CISSP, CCSP, SSCP, CEH, or similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Security is required.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of security principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • Skilled in using security tools and technologies, including firewalls, SIEM (Splunk), IDS/IPS, DLP, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex systems for security vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and more.

Experience with cloud security in Azure and AWS environments
