Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas

Strategic Network Design and Architecture

  • Comprehensive Design: Document comprehensive network designs that integrate multiple network technologies, including LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and VPNs, to support business operations and communication needs.
  • Cloud-Centric Design: Drive cloud-centric network design for multi-tenant, multi-region (intra US), and multi-vendor deployments across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS tiers.
  • Data-Centric Design: Design efficient network solutions for data transfers within the agency, across agencies, and with external business partners and public data sources.
  • Standards & Patterns: Develop overall technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and patterns for all network designs.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement networks to meet rigorous security standards, prioritizing network security and compliance, and understanding security protocols and firewalls.

Implementation, Operations, and Governance

  • Architecture Governance: Works on highly complex projects requiring in-depth knowledge across multiple specialized architecture domains and networking layers. Aligns architecture strategy with business goals.
  • Cost Modeling: Incorporate network solutioning with the emerging Cloud FinOps practice to support cost analysis and cost modeling for networking related costs.
  • Performance Management: Monitoring network performance, resolving latency issues, and analyzing data traffic and system performance to determine future upgrades.
  • Documentation: Create detailed documentation throughout the design and deployment process using tools like VISIO for future reference and maintenance.
  • Mentorship: Train, mentor, and transfer skills to the extended IT team.

Design/Deployment

6 Years (Required)

Experience in design, build, and maintain multi-tier networks.

Network Planning

6 Years (Required)

Advanced Network Design and Architecture planning, proficiency in Network Simulation and Modeling Tools.

Site Assessment

6 Years (Required)

Conduct site assessments of current remote site WAN/LAN/WLAN environments and develop hierarchical based network designs.

Cloud Networking

5 Years (Required)

Designed and implemented multiple global Azure cloud solutions, experience with Cloud Networking and Virtualization Technologies.

Documentation

10 Years (Required)

Experience with developing network design documentations and presentations using VISIO, and familiarity with Project data and documentation tools.

Emerging Tech

10 Years (Required)

Knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) Infrastructure and Protocol.
