Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid Onsite 3 days a week in office)

About the Role

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You'll work closely with product and engineering teams to interpret technical specifications, develop robust software, and implement comprehensive testing strategies. We're looking for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving continuous improvement in our development lifecycle.
Responsibilities

• Interpret written requirements and technical specifications to develop high-quality software solutions.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automation test cases and test scenarios for high-volume, low-latency web and desktop applications.
• Design and implement test automation frameworks for web services, APIs, and web-based applications.
• Continuously monitor automation test runs, analyze failures, document results, and report promptly.
• Partner with scrum team members to integrate automation solutions that advance client SDLCs and meet critical business objectives.
• Analyze and investigate reported software problems, documenting findings and suggesting solutions.
• Perform software maintenance, identify and correct defects.
• Conduct unit tests, implement test plans and harnesses, and document test results.
• Design data persistence solutions using SQL, MongoDB, or other database management systems.
• Drive a continuous improvement mentality to deliver robust performance testing strategies and methods.
• Mentor peers and junior SDETs, fostering a culture of automation best practices through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in the development, execution, and maintenance of automated test scripts.
• Prior technical lead experience providing mentoring, code review, and design support.
• Hands-on coding experience in Ruby, Java, C#, or another object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience with Agile Development Practices.
• Good understanding of exploratory testing practices.
• Good knowledge of industry-standard tools for logging bugs and managing test cases (e.g., JIRA/MTM, Zephyr/HPQ).
• Ability to perform code reviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with web service virtualization, data virtualization, and test data management.
• Hands-on experience with browser automation testing tools (e.g., Sauce Labs, Protractor, CodedUI).
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server or document-oriented databases (MongoDB).
• Advanced hands-on software development experience with leading automation framework development (6-10 years).
• Hands-on experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet).
• Experience with Agile/Lean development and testing practices, including Automated Test-Driven Development, Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD).
• Experience with scoping, sizing, and overseeing multiple concurrent projects, assessing risk-based testing, reviewing team deliverables, and acting as a single point of contact for stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work on and lead multiple projects and releases, balancing time and effort for successful delivery.
• Proven experience as a leader/trainer in a large, complex QA organization, with a demonstrated ability in leading a risk-based approach to software testing.
• Proven experience driving innovative testing solutions within a complex, Enterprise Platform.
• Experience with Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) using Gherkin language (e.g., Cucumber, JBehave, SpecFlow).
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and lean methodologies.
• Experience with Jenkins / Bamboo / GIT.
