Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager Logistics will lead large-scale initiatives across retail logistics functions, including middle mile, final mile, returns, and transportation programs. This role requires a strong background in retail operations and hands-on experience managing logistics projects end-to-end. The ideal candidate excels in structured planning, proactive risk identification, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure on-time delivery of project milestones.
What will you do?
Project Leadership
- Lead complex logistics, transportation, and returns-related projects from initiation through execution and delivery.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timeline, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
- Drive alignment across business, operations, product, engineering, and vendor teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Logistics & Retail Execution
- Manage programs involving middle-mile and final-mile logistics, reverse logistics (returns), warehouse operations, and transportation networks.
- Translate retail operational requirements into project goals and execution strategies.
- Collaborate closely with retail supply chain teams to design scalable and efficient logistics solutions.
Planning & Risk Management
- Maintain detailed project roadmaps with clear milestones, dependencies, and risk assessments.
- Proactively identify potential delays, issues, or blockers and communicate them promptly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Implement mitigation plans and drive corrective actions to keep the project on track.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project status, KPIs, and risk indicators.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, external partners, and leadership.
- Conduct regular project updates, steering committee meetings, and escalation reviews.
- Facilitate strong collaboration across cross-functional teams to ensure clarity, alignment, and accountability.
What are we looking for?
- Recent experience in retail environments is mandatory, with a strong understanding of retail logistics processes.
- Proven experience leading logistics, transportation, middle/final mile, and returns projects within large or fast-paced organizations.
- Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, dependency mapping, and risk/issue management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly alert leadership to delays, constraints, and required decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver complex programs within timeline and scope.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana).
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; PMP or similar certification is a plus.
