Position Details:

Title: SAP Cutover Lead

Location: South San Francisco, CA

Duration: 1 Year with possible extension

The Cutover Lead for Demand to Pay/Procurement ensures that local cutover is planned and executed in accordance with expectations and leads to an issue free go-live of the SAP S/4 Implementation program.

The role will work closely with the project stakeholders (inc. external where appropriate) to ensure all local elements (IT and business) are aligned, sequenced and documented as required. Additionally the role will work closely with Core counterparts as there are close links/dependencies between local cutover activities and those executed at Core (E.g., data loads and core template cutover)

Key Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Leadership of cutover activities (planning, dry runs and reporting associated with cutover) for the Demand to Pay/Procurement workstream
  • Ensuring all cutover activities are planned, from the detailed cutover run-books to the wider communications (internal and external)
  • Supporting functional teams as they define the local requirements, plans and execution
  • Coordinating the local dependencies between business, IT, data (inc. data remediation)
  • Coordinating with Core dependencies (E.g., Data Migration, Aspire Template Cutover, Global systems)
  • Ensuring cutovers are prepared and rehearsed as far as possible (E.g., technical cutovers for each test and pre-prod environment)
  • Running readiness and Go/No-Go assessments in conjunction with the Deployment Lead (including any inventory reporting)
  • Coordinate activities of a wide team of SAP functional experts, SAP technical experts and Business SMEs
  • Monitor data and cutover progress and communicate to leadership team including status, progress, issues, etc.
  • Ensuring the Ramp-Up plan is in place and supporting ramp-up reporting/status
  • Ensure any hybrid scenarios and workarounds are in place/tested and that resolution targets set.
  • Maintains post go-live issue log

Qualifications (education/experience/knowledge/skills/competencies)

  • Bachelor s or Master degree (Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, Mathematical, Information Systems or Finance & Accounting) or equivalent work experience;
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP project delivery and cutover management, with at least 1 S4/HANA full lifecycle implementation
  • Experience in global and virtual working environment; managing onshore and offshore teams
  • Understand SAP configurations and dependencies
  • Hands-on experience good knowledge in SAP functional/business processes
  • Ability to conduct and facilitate workshops with business representatives, team member resources, and external 3rd party groups
  • Problem solving skills that use techniques to identify the root cause of the issue and then ability to clearly communicate (verbal/orally) this position
  • Attention to detail in the written communications
  • Advanced communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide advice, consult and negotiate with senior management and manage key relationships between stakeholders involved in an upgrade/implementation environment
  • Very good command of English language (speaking & writing) and work experience in a multi-national environment
  • Work in an agile environment and often on multiple initiatives in parallel
  • Readiness to travel depending to the project/ services needs
