What We're Doing
Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.
The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
The Work
The selected candidate will be expected to lead diverse teams, provide technical oversight, delegate tasks, and work with the Engineering organization to establish technology roadmaps, enable modernization, and contribute to general innovation. In addition, the candidate will work with government personnel and programs and define and refine requirements to validate hardware compliance. The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees across the business within the candidate's areas of expertise.
The GMD Weapons System (GWS) Fire Control Technical Lead will be responsible for:
Providing technical expertise and leadership throughout the system lifecycle.
Leading small to medium team(s), providing technical oversight and task delegation as a member of multi-industry partnered program.
Leading, supporting, and briefing analysis activities with other GWS leads, Program and Technical leadership, and government customer.
Leading technical solutions to address complex technical problems and adding capability to the GMD Weapons System (GWS) Fire Control (sensor tasking, track management, engagement planning, weapon tasking).
Working with Program and Technical leadership to implement program and customer initiatives to include Digital Transformation and Independent Research and Development (IRAD) activities.
Regular interaction with other Industry partners and the customer, MDA/GM.
Due to the nature of the role, this is not being offered as a teleworking or hybrid position.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a STEM discipline and minimum of 14 years' professional experience
Experience leading technical solutions to address complex technical problems
Experience working across disciplines and communicating with all levels of the organization and customer to meet both company and customer goals
Experience defining and developing algorithms
Experience performing system and data analysis
Experience with domains such as battle management, command & control, communications, radar, missile, and/or modeling & simulation (or similar)
Proficient in the usage and application of MATLAB or Python or C++, or similar a programming language
Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance
Desired skills
Experience on Missile Defense System programs such as Aegis, AN/TPY-2, C2BMC, IBCS, GMD, LRDR, SBX, THAAD or similar
Demonstrated interest and ability to learn new tools and technologies and successfully apply them in completing projects in a timely manner
Ability to work well in a diverse team environment
Experience with Agile Software Development

Work Schedule Information

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
