Location Requirement: The primary work location(s) will be at 111 E. 17th Street LBJ Building Austin, Texas 78744. The working position is Hybrid - On Site and Telework.
Candidates residing within the Austin area must be in the office 2 3 times per week.
The Worker will perform highly advanced analysis to validate proposed architectural solutions, tools, and integration points. This includes reviewing proposed timelines and assessing overall project performance. The worker will also serve as a trusted advisor and Subject Matter Expert for technical services, supporting both internal and external customers through activities ranging from formal consultations to customer presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced analysis and validation of proposed architectural solutions, software tools, and system integration strategies.
- Evaluate and validate project timelines, sprint plans, and overall performance metrics to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Provide technical consulting, present architectural recommendations, and deliver formal and informal briefings as needed.
- Participate in agile and non-agile project meetings, including Scrum sessions.
- Assess project deliverables for compliance with technical and business requirements.
- Support change management initiatives by contributing to planning, execution, and communication efforts.
Core Tasks:
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to CPA and project stakeholders
- Review and validate proposed software development tools and frameworks
- Assess architectural proposals and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards
- Contribute to sprint planning, iteration reviews, and retrospective sessions
- Evaluate deliverables for completeness, quality, and performance
- Measure and report on project performance metrics
- Support organizational change management activities related to system upgrades and modernization
Qualifications:
- Strong technical expertise in modern software development architectures, including browser-based applications, cloud-native solutions, and microservices.
- Proven experience in project evaluation, software validation, and architectural assessment.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience in cross-functional project environments.
- Desirable: experience with mainframe integration and legacy system modernization.
Required Skills:
- Hands on day-to-day experience with day-to-day web application development and maintenance
- Experience creating, maintaining, and enhancing information systems developed in PeopleSoft and/or People Tools
- Experience as a Solutions Architect including: Reviewing and validating proposed architectural solutions Reviewing and validating proposed software development tools Acting as a trusted advisor
- Experience supporting Financial Systems including PeopleSoft, Fusion, etc.
- Experience with highly complex application security requirements
- Proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Experience developing and supporting microservices architectures
- Experience with automated unit testing tools and framework
- Experience with SaaS solution
Desired Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based application development
- Proficiency with front-end frameworks and tools such as JavaScript /Angular/REACT
- Experience creating, maintaining, and enhancing information systems written in PeopleSoft
- Experience integrating mainframe services (e.g., Natural / COBOL) with Java-based services
- Experience working in public sector environments (Federal, State or Local Government)
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Teams, Project, Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
