Overview

The Chief Information Security Officer (IT, OT) reports to the Global CISO (IT, OT, Product) and is responsible for providing leadership and strategic vision across diverse teams that support global enterprise security initiatives. The CISO is responsible for day-to-day operations ensuring the protection of critical IT systems, operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), and supply chain infrastructure in the USA and Europe. This individual provides leadership, executive support, strategic and tactical guidance for the security program of large-scale manufacturing environments, including securing intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and third-party risk management. As a business enabler, the CISO collaborates with the Global CISO and the Cybersecurity Promotion Office to ensure that business decisions are not obstructed by cybersecurity but are instead made using sound security principles that support corporate security policies and plans. The CISO will collaborate with global IT teams, business leaders, supply chain managers, and regulatory bodies to establish and enforce security policies.

Responsibilities

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
  • Directs and provides a strategic risk management vision that scales globally to effectively secure the business without slowing company innovation and execution.
  • In conjunction with the Cybersecurity Promotion Office, drives a strong security culture within the security department, but also organization-wide across management and employees.
  • Influences internal and external constituents, and relays best practice recommendations based on the evolving threat landscape to protect intellectual property and ensure compliance.
  • Works closely with the Global CISO overseeing security operations, incident response, IT application security and infrastructure
  • Understand and be involved in disaster recovery and business continuity planning, testing and validation.
  • Establish policies, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Oversee cybersecurity risk management in mergers and acquisitions, ensuring security integration in newly acquired entities.
  • Develop and manage a Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) program to assess and monitor supplier and vendor security.
  • Enforce cybersecurity controls across operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) to protect manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of cyber threat detection, incident response, and resilience strategies, including penetration testing and vulnerability management.
  • Safeguard intellectual property and sensitive data through security controls, data loss prevention (DLP), and encryption.
  • Ensure compliance with global data protection laws and lead cybersecurity audits and training programs.
  • Lead a global cybersecurity team, manage budgets, and collaborate with IT, legal, supply chain, and operations teams to embed cybersecurity across the enterprise.
  • Foster a security-first culture across the organization by driving employee awareness programs, phishing simulations, and executive training to strengthen cybersecurity resilience at all levels.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal business units and external entities to maintain a strong network
  • In tandem with the Global CISO and regional leaders, manage the security budget and additional fiduciary responsibilities.

MUST HAVES:
  • Master's or other advanced degree (MBA, information assurance, computer science, etc.) preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information security or related technical field.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience in IT, information security, or risk management
  • 5+ years of experience as a senior cybersecurity executive in a global manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in securing global manufacturing operations, industrial automation systems, and IoT environments.
  • Proven expertise in managing compliance with NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, ISO 21434, and GDPR.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, industrial control system security (ICS), and endpoint protection.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture, Identity Access Management (IAM), and SIEM tools.
  • Experience in securing large-scale supply chains, vendor risk management, and third-party cybersecurity assessments.
  • At least 10+ years' cybersecurity management experience with at least 8+ years in an operationally focused security practitioner role.
  • At least 3 years' experience working with business leadership and with some fiscal responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively manage stress in a constantly changing environment.
  • Driven to build a strong, cohesive team and positive enterprise-wide security culture.
  • Proven high level of integrity, trustworthiness and confidence, as well as ability to represent the company and security leadership with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and varying personalities and adapt management style to effectively reach and develop the team.
  • Demonstrated understanding and comprehension of a wide range of cybersecurity solutions.
