Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). The ideal candidate will play a key role in implementing and maintaining database solutions that support our applications and services.

This position will be 100% on-site.

Job Duties:
  • Maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases to meet the evolving needs of our applications and systems.
  • Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Create/update database documentation and support security measures needed within the database.

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and five (5) years relevant experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience supporting a large network infrastructure.

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention issues.
  • Full understanding of the flow down of Interface Design Documents to Database Data Definitions.
  • Self-reliant to learn and understand new technologies and new features of existing technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Clearance:
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Work Environment:
  • This position may require on-call availability.
