Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). The ideal candidate will play a key role in implementing and maintaining database solutions that support our applications and services.
This position will be 100% on-site.
Job Duties:
- Maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases to meet the evolving needs of our applications and systems.
- Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
- Create/update database documentation and support security measures needed within the database.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and five (5) years relevant experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience supporting a large network infrastructure.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Knowledge of Windows Server environments.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention issues.
- Full understanding of the flow down of Interface Design Documents to Database Data Definitions.
- Self-reliant to learn and understand new technologies and new features of existing technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Required Clearance:
- Active Secret Clearance.

- This position may require on-call availability.
