Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled COBOL CICS Developer to join our core banking technology team. This role is critical in supporting, maintaining, and modernizing mainframe-based banking applications responsible for high-volume transaction processing, account management, payments, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working with COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2 in a banking environment and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, compliance-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications in a CICS/DB2 mainframe environment, supporting key banking systems including core banking, loan processing, deposits, payments, and financial reporting.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand and document banking-specific requirements (e.g., ACH processing, transaction reversals, batch settlements).
Write and manage JCL scripts and batch processing jobs for end-of-day, end-of-month, and financial closing cycles.
Create and maintain CICS online transactions and integrate them with downstream systems like CRM, fraud detection, and credit scoring engines.
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and banking regulations (e.g., SOX, PCI DSS) during code development and deployment.
Support mainframe-based payment gateways, customer information systems (CIS), and general ledger interfaces.
Perform impact analysis, technical design, unit testing, and documentation for all code changes.
Troubleshoot production issues, including real-time transaction failures and batch processing errors, ensuring minimal impact on customer-facing services.
Work in coordination with QA, infrastructure, and project management teams in an Agile or hybrid SDLC environment.
