We are seeking a Cerner Millenium Systems Engineer to contribute to a major optimization and transformation initiative. This role is crucial in guiding the strategic direction and technical implementation of Cerner charge services and Patient Accounting solutions within a hospital billing environment.


The specialist will leverage their 3-5 years of Cerner charge services expertise to define the product roadmap, vision, and growth strategy. Key responsibilities include leading the evaluation of Cerner features, estimating time and cost for project requests, and ensuring system design aligns with strategic goals and business needs. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with diverse teams, vendors, and executive leadership. Basic experience with the full software development lifecycle is also required.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities:


Contribute to the design, development, and testing, of Cerner charge services and potentially, Cerner Millennium Patient Accounting.


Lead the evaluation and implementation of Cerner charge services features to replace or enhance existing application functionalities, ensuring alignment with current and future business processes.


Define and maintain the Cerner charge services product vision, roadmap, and growth strategy. Identify opportunities for product conversion, innovation, and domain-specific enhancements.


Develop and manage the application roadmap, considering lifecycle, strategic alignment, scalability, and value delivery for the Hospital Billing technology stack.


Partner with vendors, market leaders, business stakeholders, informatics teams, and Ascension Technologies to ensure cohesive planning and execution.


Represent the Cerner charge services domain in governance forums. Communicate product and technology roadmaps effectively across teams and leadership.


Work as part of multiple project teams


Review project requests describing Cerner charges services/charge capture needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish a project.




qualifications:

Skills/Experience:


- 3-5 years experience with Cerner charges services; prefer experience with implementing or optimizing Cerner charge services


- Ability to work independently and manage one's time as well as the ability to work as part of a team


- Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.


- Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.


- Strong written and verbal communication skills.


- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Bachelor's degree preferred
