Job Title: Data Center BreakFix Technician
Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Data Center BreakFix Technician to perform hands-on diagnostics, hardware replacements, and infrastructure troubleshooting in a high-availability data center environment. This role requires solid experience with fiber optics, networking principles, and Linux systems, along with the ability to work independently and mentor junior technicians when needed.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of IT experience and 2+ years in a data center environment
  • Proficiency in fiber optic handling (connections, contamination, cleaning)
  • Understanding of ESD safety protocols
  • Experience with IP networking fundamentals and OSI model
  • Knowledge of routing and switching protocols: BGP, STP, VRRP, LACP
  • Comfortable working in Linux-based systems and using command-line tools
  • Basic scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Self-driven, coachable, and able to work effectively in a team environment
