Oakworth Capital Bank has an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team in Birmingham, AL! We are looking for a full-time Banking Systems Administrator that will play a vital role in supporting our current & future clients. Summary:
Responsible for administering the core banking system, loan origination system, and related applications to ensure their efficient and reliable operation. This role includes managing system access, overseeing configurations, coordinating with vendors, implementing solutions, training users, and providing daily support. This is a technical and operational role focused on maintaining and supporting the platforms.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary in-house administrator for the Core Banking System and Loan Origination System (LOS), ensuring both platforms are maintained and operating effectively.
Act as a key technical resource for support systems that interface with the Core Banking and LOS platforms.
Support the implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment of new features and system updates in line with operational and regulatory requirements.
Play a key role in ongoing system optimization efforts by improving performance, enhancing security, and supporting scalability.
Collaborate with teams to integrate third-party applications and APIs with banking systems, supporting innovation and automation.
Responsibility Details:
Serve as Core Banking System and Loan Origination System in-house administrator, system access, configuration changes and related technology needs.
Act as the primary point of contact with vendors for issue resolution, upgrades, patches, and scheduled maintenance.
Coordinate onboarding/offboarding and support of user access in compliance with regulatory standards.
Respond to internal support requests related to system function, usage, or errors; provide tier-two support to business users.
Document platform procedures, configuration details, and support workflows.
Train end users on system navigation and best practices; maintain internal knowledgebase or SOPs.
Support compliance, audit, and risk activities related to technology and security for core and LOS system access and change control.
Collaborate with internal IT, data, and operations teams to ensure systems meet business needs and operate reliably.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor s degree in finance, banking services, or related area is preferred; at least 5 years of experience in a banking systems support or core systems administration role at a bank or credit union is preferred.
Familiarity with core banking operations and loan origination workflows (e.g. lending, account servicing, operational and teller support).
Experience working within vendor-hosted platforms in a regulated financial environment.
Strong understanding of user access control, audit logging, and system documentation best practices.
Comfortable with vendor support interaction, including opening and managing support tickets and coordinating releases or patches.
Strong communication and troubleshooting skills for supporting business users across departments.
