Principal Systems Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Principal Systems Analyst in Smithfield, RI.

Key Tasks:
* Principal Systems Analyst will collaborate with product owners and developers to define and refine system requirements and user stories
* Conduct current and future state analysis of applications and systems
* Create detailed use case documents, system diagrams, and process flows
* Translate business needs into technical design solutions and identify system interdependencies
* Write clear and concise user stories with acceptance criteria for Agile development teams
* Analyze backend data sources using SQL and application logs using tools like Datadog or Splunk
* Provide deep technical analysis of web applications and APIs (REST/SOAP)
* Participate in backlog refinement sessions and Agile ceremonies
* Support cross-team collaboration to identify dependencies and define project scope

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
* 8+ years of experience in systems analysis, particularly with enterprise-level, customer-facing web applications
* Strong understanding of web application architecture and components (e.g., APIs, backend systems)
* Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA
* Experience with modern web technologies such as Angular, Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Spring Boot
* Expertise in analyzing data flows and integrations for REST and SOAP services
* Strong SQL skills for backend data analysis
* Familiarity with log analysis tools such as Datadog or Splunk

Preferred Skills:
* Ability to create detailed system integration diagrams and process flows
* Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Self-starter with a proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
