    • Monitor and maintain balanced file systems, perform loglv configurations, and ensure proactive capacity planning across Physical Volumes (PV).
  • Database Interaction and Support
    • Possess working knowledge of IBM DB2 for general database monitoring, configuration validation, and log troubleshooting.
    • Collaborate with database administrators to ensure system and data layer compatibility.
  • Mainframe Interaction
    • Navigate and interpret mainframe screen interfaces to support job monitoring, log review, and connectivity testing.
    • Provide basic operational support within mainframe-linked environments.
  • Network Protocols and Troubleshooting
    • Demonstrate a solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations.
    • Perform root cause analysis using ARP table inspection, routing protocols, and packet inspection techniques.

  • Automation and Shell Proficiency
    • Develop robust automation scripts to improve efficiency of system operations and deployments.
    • Utilize command-line tools for file manipulation, process automation, performance tuning, and system health checks.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience working in a multi-server AIX environment.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in PERL and Bash scripting.
  • Working knowledge of WebSphere MQ, including upgrade and connectivity procedures.
  • Proficient in DB2 database fundamentals and operations.
  • Familiarity with mainframe systems and command-line navigation.
  • Expertise in networking protocols and tools for troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of LVM, VG, and file system management best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to automate system tasks and perform proactive systems monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with hybrid infrastructures involving mainframe and AIX.
  • Exposure to enterprise-grade backup/recovery and monitoring solutions.
  • Certifications in AIX, Shell Scripting, Networking, or IBM systems a strong plus.
