Job Title: Chief Nursing Officer

Duration: 6 months

Mode of Work: On-Site (Initially 100% with possibility of one week remote a month) may go home every week.

Job Description

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will provide strategic leadership and direction for nursing services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Foster a culture of compassion, excellence, and collaboration among nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.

Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance patient care outcomes.

Lead quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs to promote best practices and mitigate risks.

Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation strategies.

Cultivate professional growth and development opportunities for nursing staff through mentorship, education, and training initiatives.

Serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, championing initiatives to enhance patient experience and satisfaction.

Establish effective communication channels to facilitate transparency, feedback, and engagement within the nursing department and across the organization.

Stay abreast of emerging trends, evidence-based practices, and regulatory changes in nursing and healthcare delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing Administration or related field preferred.

Current, unrestricted RN license

Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing administration, preferably in a critical access hospital or rural healthcare setting.

Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate teams in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
