Role: System Administrator
Location: HYBRID position requiring 2 in-office days at local client office per week
Duration: 11+ months
W2 Contract
Responsibility Summary :
- Responsible for applying business and technical knowledge to ensure availability of clients systems, and to provide quality solutions for business and enterprise infrastructure needs.
- Independently design, assemble, configure, install, maintain and tune complex infrastructure components associated to the specific IS department.
- Provide guidance and training for infrastructure technologies to peers and less experienced administrators.
Qualifications Required in the Job:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field, or, relevant experience
- 5 years experience in system administration or storage administration experience
- Display expert understanding of Hardware, Operating Systems, Storage, Replication, and Network Technologies.
- Develop complex technical requirements for enhancements and new systems. - Develop multiple system designs and specifications.
- Develop, package, test, document and implement quality infrastructure within targeted due dates. - Debug and correct complex internal and external infrastructure problems
- Conduct walkthroughs to assure quality of designs and implementations.
- Provide estimates for project milestones.
- Follow the firm s Project Life Cycle.
- Provide all levels of support for assigned systems, including rotating assignment to provide 24x7 on-call coverage and monitoring system logs and messages.
- Understand business and technical implications of projects.
- Write requirements, test plans and status reports.
- Communicate effectively with developers, vendor contacts, leaders, and business associates.

Problem Solving:
- Must be able to identify and resolve complex internal or external infrastructure problems on a daily or weekly basis.
- Problem resolution can require in-depth data capturing and analysis using a wide variety of diagnostic tools.
Decision Making:
- Assignments can include new technologies and procedures, and most project and support decisions will be made with limited guidance and direction.
- Decision making in problem resolutions can have significant business impacts and Senior System Administrators are expected to engage IS Leadership when existing procedures are unclear.
Span of Influence:
- Review the work of others on their teams and provide recommendations to IS leadership.
- Interact with Project and Support teams, Business Users, and IS leadership.
- No administrative responsibility for other associates but will serve as mentors and provide feedback on other associates to their leaders.
