Integration Lead (Dell Boomi)

Role : Integration Lead

Location : Wilmington, DE (Onsite)

Duration : Long term contract

Experience : 12 years needed

Key Responsibilities:

1.Integration Architecture & Design

• Lead the overall integration strategy, architecture, and design between SAP and Salesforce.
• Define canonical data models, API contracts, and mapping standards.
• Own the end-to-end data flow diagrams, interface specifications, and system interaction documents.
• Ensure designs align with enterprise architecture, security policies, and performance requirements.

2.Requirements & Functional Alignment

• Work closely with Business SMEs, SAP Functional teams (SD, MM, FI), and Salesforce Functional Consultants.
• Convert business requirements into integration functional & technical specifications (IFS/TDS). Validate source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and exception processes.

3.Dell Boomi Development Oversight

• Provide leadership to Boomi Developers for all activities:

o Process design

o Atom/Molecule configuration

o Connector/API management

o Error handling & retry logic

o Logging, auditing, and monitoring

• Review integration code, ensure alignment with best practices and coding standards.

4.SAP & Salesforce Coordination

• Coordinate with SAP ABAP, PI/PO (if in scope), and functional teams for:

o IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, OData services

o API enablement and enhancements

o Data extraction, data loads, and synchronoasynchronous processes

• Collaborate with Salesforce team for:

o API enablement

o Object and field mapping

o Data loads and interface testing

5.Testing & Quality Assurance

• Lead SIT, E2E, Regression, and support UAT from an integration standpoint.
• Prepare test scenarios, mock data, and validation scripts.
• Ensure complete traceability across requirements design build test.

6.Environment Management & Deployments

• Plan integration environment landscapes (DEV/SIT/UAT/PROD).
• Coordinate Boomi deployments and version control.
• Oversee cutover activities and hyper care for integration components.

7.Error Handling & Support Framework

• Define proactive monitoring, logging, alerting, and exception-handling processes.
• Establish integration support runbooks and knowledge transfer to AMS teams.

8.Governance & Documentation

• Maintain all integration documentation including: o Interface Inventory o Integration Architecture Diagrams o Data Flow and Mapping Sheets o Technical Design Specifications (TDS)
• Conduct design walkthroughs, code reviews, and approval checkpoints.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Dell Boomi (API Management, Atmosphere, low-code integrations).
• Deep understanding of SAP interfaces:

o IDoc types (ORDERS05, DEBMAS, MATMAS etc.)

o BAPI/RFC

o SAP OData / REST

o Proxy/Web Services

• Strong knowledge of Salesforce APIs:

o REST/SOAP

o Bulk API v1/v2

o Platform Events (nice to have)

• Expertise in JSON, XML, XSD, Flat files, EDI formats.
• Good understanding of authentication models (OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, Certificates).
• Knowledge of integration patterns:

o Sync/Async

o Batch

o Pub/Sub

o Event-driven integrations

o Error and retry frameworks

Functional Skills

• Solid knowledge of SAP SD, MM, FI processes and master data relevant to integration.
• Understanding of Salesforce Sales/Service/FSL domain objects.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and complex multi-system implementations.

Leadership & Delivery Skills

• Proven experience leading integration teams (onshore/offshore).
• Strong communication with business stakeholders and IT leadership.
• Ability to manage risks, issues, dependencies, and timelines for integration workstreams.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum and traditional SDLC methodologies.
