Volt is immediately hiring for a Systems Administrator
Description:
As a Systems Administrator, you will:
o Administer and maintain systems supporting the 3D radar system, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
o Perform system troubleshooting and resolve hardware, software, and network issues as they arise.
o Conduct regular system monitoring, patch management, and performance tuning.
o Maintain and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and troubleshoot radar system components.
o Implement and maintain system security measures in accordance with DoD standards and protocols.
o Support network configurations, including IP address management, VLAN configurations, and Layer 3 Switches management.
o Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
o Travel up to 25% of the time to domestic locations to support system installations, maintenance, and operational needs.
This is a 12-month contract role
Clearance needed: Active Top-Secret Clearance.
Ideal candidate will have:
o IAT Level I Certification or Higher (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, Security+, etc.)
o Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
o Strong understanding of networking concepts, routing protocols, and troubleshooting (e.g., OSPF, BGP, DNS, VLANs).
o Experience diagnosing and resolving complex system and network issues.
o Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time, as required.
o Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
o Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience and minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in system administration and networking support.
Compensation:
$60 to $65/Hr
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
