Role: Cloud Engineer


Location: Charlotte, NC



Roles and Responsibilities:



  • Workers at this level solve problems with general supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop skills, and the ability to work with greater independence.

  • They have knowledge of fundamental concepts and procedures. The associate cloud engineer provides level 1 support and troubleshooting for cloud platforms.

  • They will handle routine tasks such as platform monitoring, backups, user issues, and on-boarding.

  • They may also be expected to do basic script writing in order to assist with platform automation.



Responsibilities: Platform automation, assist product teams with problem resolutions, routine maintenance tasks, reviewing health checks alerts and escalating as necessary, assisting with updates and patching.



Responsibilities will include:



  • Develop software platforms and frameworks, including platform automation and defining the process and cadence of upgrades & changes

  • Maintain services, monitor system health, and continually look for improvements

  • Scale systems sustainably using continuous deployment and automation

  • Research and implement best design principals in order to improve reliability and velocity

  • Work in an agile environment and engage in practices such as XP, test driven development

  • Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolves them.

  • Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements from customers

  • Collaborate with other engineers, developers, designers, and product owners



Education: Associate degree. Years of prior Equivalent work-related experience in lieu of degree : 1 year in cloud engineering or server administrator role . Preferred Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications/Experience:
Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Infrastructure as Code, Networking, Data Center Infrastructure, Cloud platforms, Platform as a Service, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, BASH, GO, Python, PowerShell, or other scripting language, Containers, Micro-services. IAM roles, Sentinel policies, Terraform Enterprise, Vault, Apigee Hybrid. Terraform or AWS certifications.
