- 10 15 years total IT experience; at least 7 in Linux on IBM z/LinuxONE.
- Hybrid skillset: deep technical foundation + strong client engagement & delivery leadership.
- Experience in migration projects, infrastructure modernization, or mainframe-to-Linux consolidation.
- Strong verbal and written communication for executive-level presentations.
Key Technical & Leadership Skills:
- Linux on IBM zSystems/LinuxONE (7+ years):
Proven experience deploying, administering, and optimizing enterprise-grade Linux environments on IBM mainframe hardware. - Migration Architecture & Implementation:
Expertise in designing and executing migration strategies-likely from legacy or distributed systems to Linux on IBM z. - Technical Team Leadership:
Leading cross-functional or multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring engineers, and ensuring delivery alignment. - Client-Facing Communication:
Ability to present complex technical solutions to executive stakeholders, explaining value, ROI, and technical strategy clearly. - Negotiation & Problem Solving:
Skilled in resolving client concerns, negotiating scope, and driving consensus on architectural decisions. - Project Management:
Proficient in planning, tracking, and delivering large-scale infrastructure or migration projects; familiar with agile or hybrid PM methods. - IBM Collaboration:
Experience interfacing with IBM product and development teams for escalation, feature requests, or co-engineering activities. - Sizing & Scoping Engagements:
Ability to estimate, design, and document technical solutions-understanding service complexity, cost, and effort levels.
