Job Title: Business Analyst Hybrid
Location: Richmond, VA (Webcam Interview + In-person Meetings)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst with a strong background in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Revenue Cycle Financial processes (e.g., patient accounting, billing, claims). The ideal candidate will bring expertise in healthcare IT, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to support EHR system implementation and optimization across clinical and financial domains.
This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts throughout different project phases, including requirements gathering, solution design, system testing, training, and post-go-live support.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key EHR resource for data collection and system design
- Participate in site visits to support solution design and implementation planning
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and vendors, supporting both onsite and remote activities
- Drive the execution of solution-specific implementation and testing
- Develop procedures, policies, and documentation related to new systems or workflows
- Assist in unit and system testing, validation, and troubleshooting
- Create visual representations of business processes and workflows
- Facilitate integrated workflow development and system optimization
- Support end-user training and go-live activities
- Provide post-implementation support for clinical and financial systems
- Collaborate with the project manager on scope, deliverables, RFPs, SOWs, and Agile management
- Utilize project collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, MS Office, Visio)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare (health IT, clinical, research, or financial domains)
- 5+ years working with EHR systems (Cerner Millennium / Oracle Health preferred)
- Strong knowledge of revenue cycle workflows and healthcare operations
- Proficiency in SQL, Java, and CCL (Cerner Command Language preferred)
- Experience with relational databases and software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Familiarity with project management methodologies: Waterfall, Agile, Iterative
- Skilled in requirements gathering, process mapping, and business analysis
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with limited supervision
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Informatics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, SEC 501)
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and collaborative environment
- Previous experience supporting EHR implementation or optimization projects
Tools & Technologies:
- EHR Systems: Cerner Millennium / Oracle Health (preferred)
