Job Title: Data Warehouse Engineer / Data Modeler
Experience Required: 8+ years
Location: San Antonio/Plano
Work Environment: Hands-on technical role focusing on data modeling, data analysis, and middleware interface development for enterprise data platforms.
Essential / Primary Skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in building data warehouses and serving as a middleware interface between applications.
- Expertise in data profiling, data analysis, and data modeling for both OLTP and OLAP systems (data marts and data warehouses).
- At least 4 years of experience in relational modeling and dimensional modeling.
- Strong understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
- Skilled in creating and managing Star Schema and Snowflake Schema designs.
- Experienced in building Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD) and understanding granularity and cardinality in databases.
- Hands-on exposure to database re-engineering optimizing or restructuring existing database systems for performance and scalability.
Good-to-Have / Secondary Skills
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration frameworks.
- Exposure to cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
- Experience collaborating with data engineers, BI developers, or application teams.
