Location: Houston, TX Hybrid Role)- Onsite 4 Days a Week-Remote 1 day a week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Data Warehouse Platform Administrator/Engineer to manage and support modern data warehouse components and ETL pipelines. This role focuses on platform administration, maintenance, monitoring, automation, and support across Snowflake, AWS Glue, Matillion, and DBT environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in administrative activities, real-time CDC tools, and a strong understanding of SQL and data modeling.

This position requires a blend of technical expertise, operational discipline, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business users and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Administration & Engineering

  • Administer and maintain data warehouse platforms including Snowflake, AWS Glue, Matillion, and DBT.
  • Experience with AWS S3, EC2, SQS, SNS, IAM, AMI, Route 53
  • Perform platform-level tasks such as user and role management, resource monitoring, time travel.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of data pipelines and warehouse components.

Monitoring & Automation

  • Set up and maintain monitoring tools and alerts for system health, performance, and data pipeline integrity.
  • Automate routine tasks such as job scheduling, data refreshes, and system checks using scripting or orchestration tools.
  • Integrate platform operations with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow and JIRA.

CDC Tools & Data Integration

  • Work with real-time Change Data Capture (CDC) tools including IBM Infosphere and Qlik Replicate.
  • Support data ingestion and synchronization processes across multiple source systems.

Collaboration & Business Engagement

  • Engage with business users to understand issues, gather requirements, and drive them to closure.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and adapt to new ETL/BI cloud tools as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data warehouse platform administration and ETL pipeline engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, Matillion, and AWS Glue in both development and support environments.
  • Strong Snowflake SQL and database skills including query optimization and data modeling.
  • Experience with real-time CDC tools such as IBM Infosphere and Qlik Replicate.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and workflow tools such as ServiceNow and JIRA.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and maintenance.

Preferred:

  • Exposure to CI/CD practices and tools in a data engineering context.
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, and compliance frameworks.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently and across multiple teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks beyond day-to-day responsibilities.
