Job Title: Ruby on Rails Developer
Location: Dallas, TX
Job Description:
Client is seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of clinical and administrative healthcare applications built on the Ruby on Rails framework. This is an on-site position located in Dallas, TX , and requires strong hands-on experience in Ruby development within healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications supporting hospital operations, patient care, and clinical workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, researchers, and IT stakeholders to understand healthcare-specific application needs.
  • Ensure software aligns with healthcare regulatory standards, including HIPAA and institutional policies.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: planning, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance of existing Rails-based systems.
  • Document code, workflows, and architecture for internal use and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building or maintaining applications in healthcare or clinical environments.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, secure coding practices, and healthcare data privacy.
  • Experience working with healthcare data, EHR systems, or hospital administration tools is preferred.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and version control tools (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional clinical/IT teams.
