As part of our Silicon Technologies group, you'll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processor, system-on-chip (SoC). You'll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. Together, you and your team will enable our customers to do all the things they love with their devices! Apple is looking for an Kubernetes Platform Engineer to deploy, operate, and enhance Kubernetes infrastructure within our Silicon Technologies organization. In this highly visible role, you will have the responsibility of ensuring that Apple's world class Silicon Engineering Group has reliable, scalable, and secure container orchestration platforms needed to engineer and design the world's most advanced silicon devices and products. You will utilize your expertise in Kubernetes administration, infrastructure automation, container technologies, and platform development to build and maintain robust cluster environments that support critical engineering workflows and development processes.

The person filling this position must be a hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated engineer with strong initiative and a desire to succeed in a challenging environment. You will implement cloud-native practices and support Kubernetes solutions while learning cluster management, security best practices, and performance optimization techniques that sustain our large distributed environment. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in container orchestration and platform engineering.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of BS + 3 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in Kubernetes architecture, administration, and security
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong Linux system administration and container technologies experience
- Experience with Kubernetes package management and templating tools (Helm, Kustomize)
- Experience developing custom Kubernetes operators and controllers
- Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (Python, Bash, Go)
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform and configuration management (Puppet, Ansible)
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux)
- Experience with monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) and performance tuning
