Cloud Test Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Cloud and Test Engineer that will manage, administer, support, and enhance cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution in support of development, testing, deployment, and optimization of a large-scale cloud environment. Our team is developing a cloud native data mesh or data layer to support the implementation of an agency-wide enterprise data strategy, including data discovery, data sharing, and comprehensive data governance. The system will include the ability for data owners to control their own data in the ecosystem within producer domains and publish data to internal or external data users through consumer domains.

The testing component of this role is expected to grow over time as additional functions or features of the Enterprise data layer or data mesh are developed, including integration of data governance through Collibra, implementation of user interfaces such as producer or consumer domains, and development and deployment of data query and data visualization functions. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful sof tware development, and that means rigorous testing. You will work within a collaborative Agile team and will serve as a testing SME to develop appropriate Agile stories and test cases to validate completed Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) . You'll also work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

As a Cloud and Test Engineer on our team, you'll use your experience to work with developers, engineers, and customer stakeholders to test and evaluate components of a cloud native application developed to support a national defense mission. You'll create a test plan with test cases based on user stories. You may use tools and automation to streamline operations through a repeatable standardized process. You will generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the infrastructure performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the solution. You may also be called upon to support agile sprint demos of completed features to customer stakeholders.

You'll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of the production environment. This is an opportunity to supercharge your skills by writing the code to test. You'll also broaden your experience in cloud development, large-scale data mesh, and other key technology areas, and gain skills in new areas such as automation, cloud computing, and data query and visualization, while sharing your testing experience with your team. That's why we need you, an experienced Cloud and Test Engineer who knows how to thoroughly test cloud native applications and work with multiple stakeholders to make sure our team releases the best cloud native solution possible.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud native technologies and services
  • 3+ years with experience with sof tware testing, cloud testing, development of test scripts, and use of automated test tools and concepts
  • Experience developing and deploying IaC within an AWS Cloud environment, and supporting the development of innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Experience with the development and implementation of IaC and data pipeline validation testing, development of test cases, and use of tools to support testing to verify functionality of completed IaC prior to deployment to production environments
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and application to cloud native workloads
  • Ability to support engineering, testing, and cloud optimization of cloud native solutions on AWS or AWS GovCloud, including developing and deploying IaC and leveraging Terraform and Terragrunt
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical Certification such as CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner ( CCP ) or higher-level AWS Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience working with DoD clients
  • Experience with Terraform or Terragrunt IaC tools
  • Experience with third-party code scanning, or cloud workload cybersecurity or DevSecOps compliance tools
  • Experience testing secure workloads and Zero T rus t access models
  • Experience with data lake or data mesh architectures in AWS GovCloud
  • Experience with data engineering principles and testing ETL pipelines in AWS
  • Knowledge of the DoD Personnel Security mission area
  • Ability to work as part of an engineering team and support the Risk Management Framework process to obtain an Authorization to Operate ( ATO ) for a new system implementation

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; Top Secret clearance is required.
