Midtown Design Studio is seeking a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to join a small interdisciplinary team of graphic designers, coders, and strategists. As our team's operational and business development hub.
This role will handle a mix of project management responsibilities and additionally support the generation and extension of team projects, functioning as the "quarterback for a bustling creative studio. The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-obsessed, with a knack for handling multiple workstreams, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously and with ease. The role is client-facing, so a demonstrated track record of excellent client management skills is important, with an emphasis on partnering with organizations ranging from large blue-chip entities to regional non-profits and NGOs. Excellent verbal and written communication is a priority along with previous design studio or agency experience.
Proficiency in Google Workspace and Slack is required, with Figma and Pitch as a plus.
Successful candidates will have an interest/experience in branding and an interest/understanding of data visualization.
Specific responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients across multiple accounts, managing client
requests and resolving issues in collaboration with the internal team.
Oversee staffing allocation, freelancer identification and onboarding, and general team
operations. Lead weekly team stand-up meetings.
Attend internal and client meetings, track deliverables and feedback, and ensure final quality
control for all creative work as needed.
Lead both internal and external project management tasks, including scheduling meetings and
deadlines, providing status updates, planning meetings, and preparing necessary materials.
Manage select projects from initial brief to completion, covering strategic, creative, and
implementation deliverables, and work with the Partner to maintain a cohesive client relationship.
Coordinate and oversee discovery and strategy phases of select projects: conduct stakeholder
interviews, prepare presentation decks on findings, and ensure smooth project execution.
Lead new business efforts, including creating project scopes, proposals, and presentation decks.
Collaborate with the Partner and business development team to identify and
evaluate new opportunities.
Support Partner on new business calls by participating in discussions and taking notes to track opportunities from initial call to decision.
Identify and develop opportunities to grow existing client engagements.
Author project proposals detailing deliverables, timelines, fees, anticipated work steps, and relevant third-party costs and expenses.
Oversee the team's project revenue and track profitability, partnering regularly with finance, new business, and the Partner. Coordinate with central finance department as needed and advise the Partner on financial decision-making and planning.
Organize and manage project files, assets, and deliverables.
Collaborate with Pentagram's central communication team on publishing work and submitting for awards. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those with non-traditional educational experiences. Candidates with at least 4-6 years of work experience. The position is full-time, in-person 4 days a week.
