Job Details

Description

Gather technical requirements from GM Global Propulsions Systems (GPS) Engineering and Cell Systems Engineering teams, develop and release Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) high voltage Lithium ion (Li-ion) battery pack system level requirements and test and validation plans for future BEV battery packs, and ensure system level requirements are aligned with technology roadmaps. Develop, and integrate including battery disconnect unit, bus-bars, connectors, battery modules/cells, Cell Monitoring Unit, Battery Management System, Thermal Management System, and thermal runaway mitigation components, using Siemens NX, Teamcenter and Engineering Change Management (ECM) tools. Ensure battery pack meets defined requirements including energy capacity (kWHr), power kW, and Series and Parallel configurations, to achieve desired pack voltage and c-rates, thermal propagation mitigation, and thermal system performance requirements. Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Review based on Failure Mode (DRBFM) to analyze and report product engineering designs.

Additional Description

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related role, and three (3) years of experience as an Engineer, Engineering Manager, or related role. Must also have experience with: Battery, battery pack or embedded product technical requirements analysis or management, and DFMEA or FMEA development, analysis or support.
