Job DescriptionOracle Cloud Infrastructure is seeking a Data Center Facilities Engineer for our facilities in Chicago, IL. Our Chicago facilities are critical assets and we are seeking an engineer with expertise in mission critical environments. ResponsibilitiesYour success will be measured by:
Technical
- A desire to learn and participate in the creation and development of scalable engineering solutions
- Ability to read and utilize electrical and mechanical schematics
- Safely performing electrical switching operations
- Review of MOPs and SOPs for accuracy, safety, and to assess the potential for business impact
- Overseeing the maintenance activities performed by others to ensure they are conducted safely and correctly
- Ensuring Oracle change management policies are adhered to
- Undertaking the testing of electrical and cooling systems and identifying issues and working on solutions
- Supporting the resolution of engineering incidents
- Overseeing the installation of electrical and cooling infrastructure
Testing and Verification
- Following existing procedures and play a key role in the development and improvement of processes
- Analyzing and validate system data and reports for accuracy and completeness
- Undertaking risk assessments of supplier or partner works
- Scheduling and track completion of preventive and corrective work items
- Drafting scopes of work and requests for proposal for vendors and service providers
- Providing frequent reports on key performance indicators pertaining to space, power, and availability
- Assist with developing dashboards and automation to support scalable solutions
Project Implementation
- Implementation and tracking of project plans in conjunction with others
- Participating in the development of technical and process improvements
- Identifying potential issues and working with others to ensure project success

Education/experience:
- Associates degree or higher in an electrical or electronic discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in operating and maintaining Data Center facilities
- Journeyman electrical license or higher

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
