Job Title: Senior Data Governance Consultant
Location: Remote / Hybrid (Preferred: TX, VA, NJ, NC)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Governance Consultant to design, implement, and lead enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and policies across large-scale organizations. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in metadata management, master data management (MDM), regulatory compliance, and data quality improvement, with proven experience driving organizational adoption through stakeholder engagement and change management.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise data governance frameworks, standards, and policies.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Business, IT, Compliance, Legal) to ensure alignment of governance strategy with enterprise objectives and ERP transformations.
Design and deploy metadata repositories, data catalogs, and business glossaries using tools such as Collibra, Alation, and IBM InfoSphere.
Define and monitor data quality KPIs, stewardship roles, and governance dashboards.
Lead compliance initiatives aligned with NIST 800-53, FISMA, HIPAA, and CCPA standards.
Oversee data lineage and classification processes to support risk mitigation and audit readiness.
Drive stakeholder engagement through training sessions, workshops, and governance awareness programs.
Collaborate with data owners to establish Data Service Level Agreements (DSLA) and Information-Sharing Agreements (ISA).
Provide UAT and QA support for governance-related migrations and integrations (e.g., Alation, I Snowflake).
Promote a data-driven culture by implementing best practices for stewardship, compliance, and transparency.
Required Skills & Experience:
15+ years of experience in Data Governance, MDM, or Enterprise Data Management.
Strong understanding of metadata management, data modeling, and policy creation.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Collibra, Alation, IBM InfoSphere, Informatica CD Snowflake, and AWS.
Proven background in regulatory compliance and audit frameworks (NIST, CCPA, FISMA).
Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to influence senior leadership.
Experience leading data governance efforts during ERP or digital transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Rally.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
AWS-SYSOPS Certification
Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments (e.g., USAA, Fannie Mae, JPMorgan Chase).
Strong knowledge of data privacy and risk management frameworks.
