Job Title: Applications Architect 3
Location: Austin, TX 78751 (Hybrid Mon, Wed, Thurs onsite; Tue & Fri remote)
Contract Duration: 7 Months duration (with possible extension 1 - 2 years)
Interview Format: In-person and Microsoft Teams

Position is HYBRID at the location listed above - Onsite (Mon, Wed, Thurs) and Remote (Tue and Fri)

The program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY.

Please do not submit candidates who are currently out of state and are planning to move to Texas. Candidates must already reside in Texas.

Job Overview: Client is seeking experienced Applications Architects (Level 3) to design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java EE, microservices, cloud platforms, and modern architectural principles, with a focus on scalability, security, and performance in a healthcare/Medicaid environment.
Level Description: 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Job Description: Application architects are responsible for designing, developing and implementing applications for computer systems. They must direct the development process from conception to completion and oversee the efforts of all associated technical staff.

Additional job details and special considerations: Experienced Cloud Application Architect with a proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise-grade solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and strategic vision to architect scalable, secure, and high-performance applications in a cloud-native environment.

Key Qualifications:

10+ years of hands-on experience in Java EE development, with a strong grasp of its ecosystem, frameworks, and best practices.

Demonstrated ability to design and evolve enterprise-level applications that meet rigorous performance and scalability requirements.

Expertise in microservice architecture, including the design and implementation of distributed systems.

Solid understanding of modern architectural principles, with practical experience applying the 12-Factor App methodology for building SaaS applications.

Proficiency in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to model complex business domains and facilitate clear communication between technical and business teams.

Comprehensive knowledge of design patterns and their application in real-world scenarios.

Role Responsibilities:

Lead the architecture and design of cloud-native applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.

Work on development of the application while implementing best practices for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
