DTS, an award-winning manufacturer of advanced data acquisition and test systems, has a great opportunity available in our Seal Beach, CA office for a Technical Sales Manager who can speak the language of engineers, navigate complex sales cycles, and deliver smart solutions that matter.
Position Summary
As Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for both direct sales and support our global network of reseller partners to promote DTS products and services. This is a dynamic role requiring a strong mix of technical aptitude, sales skills, strategic thinking, and effective people skills.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales to develop and execute a sales plan focused on increasing sales, including short and long-term strategies.
- Enable and support global sales partners through training, joint sales calls, quarterly business reviews and other activities.
- Prepare detailed proposals and sales quotations tailored to customer needs.
- Develop and maintain accurate forecasts and reporting in Salesforce CRM.
- Assist with defining potential custom accessories or products needed to complete complex customer application solutions.
- Conduct on-site and virtual product demonstrations.
- Promote DTS solutions via social media channels (primarily LinkedIn).
- Assist in identifying new products to meet customer needs.
- Interface with customer service and technical support departments to assure that customer expectations are met.
- Represent DTS at industry trade shows and regional seminars.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by DTS management.
Experience and Skills:

The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities for the job. - Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar discipline and previous sales experience (approx. 5+ years) in the Test and Measurement or related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- In-depth knowledge of data acquisition hardware, sensors, and associated software is necessary.
- Strong understanding of the technical sales process, with proven interpersonal skills, and passion to pursue a career path in sales. Formal sales training is a plus (e.g. Sandler, Miller-Heiman).
- Experience with dynamic test and measurement applications with the ability to understand customer requirements and propose solutions is necessary.
- Previous experience using LinkedIn and/or Sales Navigator to prospect for new business is strongly preferred.
- Ability to effectively prepare and deliver product demonstrations and PowerPoint presentations is necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to appropriately address and document details, simultaneously manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with other individuals/departments is necessary. The ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional, diplomatic manner is also necessary.
- Demonstrated proficiency using MS Windows PC as well as various computer programs, such as Outlook Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as, the ability to learn and master several essential DTS software products is necessary.

Estimated Salary Range: $140k - $175k annualized
The estimated salary range listed below allows for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as room for growth achieved within the role over time. Offers extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Equipment Use
This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental, and health concerns may demand attention. The work environment is a production and engineering area and typical business office. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and have the ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Occasional US and/or international travel to customer, vendor, corporate, and/or other sites may be necessary based on business or customer needs.
