Python QA Automation Developer

Position Details:

Title: Python QA Automation Developer

Type: 6-Month Contract + Opportunity to Extend

Location: Toronto, ON

Work Model: Mon Thurs Onsite (4 days/week), 37.5 hours/week

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $75/hour -$80/hour

Interview Process: 2 rounds 1 virtual technical IV and 1 in-person

Must haves:

• 5 years of experience as an Automation Developer and Mindset of an SDET


• 3 years of Capital markets experience with a strong understanding of Front, Middle, and back office trading lifecycle


• Previous experience of automation testing on back-end applications


• 5 years experience with Python


• 5 years of experience Pytest Framework. Previous experience developing test cases and enhancing automation in an Python/ Py Test Environment


• SQL experience


• Data Validation experience


• Strong understanding of Data Validation Testing, looking at back-end outputs and inputs


• Strong understanding of Cloud concepts and Storage, preferably with AWS


• Strong grasp of CI/CD concepts, ecosystem, and best practices.


• Proficient with GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins. While the team currently uses GitHub Actions, experience with Jenkins or similar tools is equally acceptable.


• Capable of building event-driven automation pipelines triggered by actions such as code commits, pull requests, or merges.


• Strong understanding to Testing Lifecycle: Automation, Regression. Smoke, and UAT testing


• Self-driven and can wear multiple hats

Nice to have:

• Experience with Gherkin


• Previous experience as an SDET
