Role: Audio-Video Technician

Location: Allentown, PA - Onsite Work

Length: 6 months+

Summary

To serve as a technical resource for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the audio and video equipment.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate s degree in Music/Sound Production, TV/Film, a related field, or comparable experience. Bachelor s Degree preferred.
  2. Minimum two years of experience as a commercial A/V installer.
  3. Audio/Video editing a plus.
  4. Experience leading installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial audio/video systems, including conference rooms.
  5. Proficiency in installing projection systems, wiring, A/V system terminations, loudspeakers, cameras, and displays.
  6. In-depth, hands-on knowledge of the operation, configuration, and maintenance of analog, digital, and POE audio/video software and systems.
  7. Working knowledge of the installation, testing, and maintenance of audio and video cabling, including copper and fiber optic (single-mode and multimode) and related test equipment.
  8. Must be able to operate power tools like drills, saws, and/or rotary hammers.
  9. Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  10. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  11. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  12. Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
  13. Must be able to lift over 50 pounds over your head, have a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Act as the main point of contact for audio/video events.
  2. Install and troubleshoot conference room setups and equipment, including web conferences such as Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, etc.
  3. Fabricate racks, pull and dress cables, and manage cable terminations.
  4. Provide friendly customer service during installation and servicing tasks.
  5. Provide support to the IT Network Team as needed
  6. Maintain Public Address Systems (PA) hardware and software standards as set forth in the technology plan.
  7. Maintain an accurate inventory and system drawings of all audio/video and cabling equipment and components.
  8. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with the members of the Information Technology staff.
  9. Effective communication.
  10. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned.
