Configuration Technician I

Job Summary:

The IT Configuration Technician I is responsible for the setup, configuration, and deployment of hardware and software systems across the organization. This entry-level role supports IT operations by ensuring devices are properly prepared for end users, maintaining inventory records, and assisting with troubleshooting and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals according to company standards.
• Install and update operating systems and software applications.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, configuration changes, and deployments.
• Assist in imaging and re-imaging systems using standard tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT, or similar).
• Support asset tagging and tracking processes.
• Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
• Follow established procedures for handling and securing sensitive data.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal users during setup and support activities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education:High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in IT or related field preferred.
• Certification:CompTIA A+required.
• Experience:1-2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, configuration, or related technical role.
• Skills:
• Basic understanding of Windows and macOS environments.
• 
  
• Familiarity with imaging tools and deployment processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

• May require lifting and moving equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Occasional travel between office locations may be required.
• Standard office hours with potential for after-hours support during deployments.
