Java Back End Developer - W2 Contract

• Hands-On Development: This is a development-intensive role, not a support position. You will work across both legacy systems and a modern microservices-based architecture.
• Feature Implementation: Design, develop, and deploy business-critical enhancements to both the existing legacy platform and the new cloud-native microservices.
• Migration Support: Understand and maintain legacy systems (hosted on Tomcat) while contributing to the architectural transition to microservices.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Implement enhancements on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and support deployment of microservices on Kubernetes.
• Agile Collaboration: Collaborate with upstream/downstream teams, including a globally distributed workforce, using Agile methodologies.
• Code Quality & Compliance: Write secure, high-quality, performant code adhering to industry best practices, SOX compliance, and internal security standards, especially relevant to wholesale billing applications.

Must-Have Skills

• Experience:
• 10+ years of overall professional experience.
• Minimum of 6 years in Spring Boot development within a Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Java & Spring Boot:
• Strong proficiency in Java 21 (or Java 20+) and recent Spring Boot versions.
• Kubernetes:
• Solid working knowledge of Kubernetes, including hands-on experience managing clusters.
• Oracle Database:
• Expertise in Oracle databases, with the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Legacy Environment:
• Familiarity with Linux environments and Tomcat application server.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Middleware Tools:
• Experience with Apache Kafka and IBM MQ.
• Integration/Workflow:
• Exposure to Apache Camel for integration and workflow solutions.
• Industry Experience:
• Background in the telecom domain is a plus, but not mandatory.
