This is a remote position.

Please Note:
  • This is a Remote position, but the client prefers candidates from the Eastern Standard Time Zone.
  • Work Hours: Monday-Friday (40 hours a week).
  • The candidate is open to attending occasional on-site sessions in New York City, if the client requires travel.


Position Summary:
The Business Analyst will serve as the primary liaison between the client's stakeholders and the technical project team to define, document, and align business and user needs with the design and development of a modernized enterprise budgeting and vendor application system. This role requires a balance of analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, and documentation expertise in a highly collaborative, Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct stakeholder and end-user interviews across multiple departments
  • Analyze current workflows across systems such as Galaxy, Extended Use, and FAMIS, and define optimized future-state processes
  • Translate findings into user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and business requirements documents
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, developers, and product managers throughout the Agile development lifecycle
  • Validate user requirements through iterative feedback, wireframe review, and usability sessions
  • Support the planning and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring deliverables meet stakeholder needs
  • Assist in backlog grooming and prioritization of feature requests in coordination with the client's product owners
  • Ensure all requirements consider the client mandates for accessibility, security, and data transparency
  • Maintain project documentation, workflows, and traceability matrices

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in digital transformation projects
  • Strong experience documenting workflows, creating functional requirements, and translating stakeholder needs into technical deliverables
  • Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and methodologies
  • Public sector or education sector experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, FERPA, and data compliance a plus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely while collaborating with cross-functional teams
