Position Summary
We are seeking a System Engineer to oversee System quality assurance strategies, which include data, automation and enhancements within the Senior Supplemental Insurance (SSI) department of the CVS Medicare domain. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of Medicare-related systems, data pipelines, and applications by contributing with other, analysts and automation engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience in data validation, scalable data pipeline, data workflows, automated testing, analysis and technologies like SQL, along with a strong understanding of healthcare data compliance (CMS, HIPAA, Medicare regulations), test automation, and Agile methodologies.

What you'll do:
  • Manage multiple testing scrum teams, ensuring high-quality Medicare policy, claims, and enrollment systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and security best practices in the pipeline
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines and services
  • Participates in agile or other development methodologies, attends meetings, contributes to project planning, and helps drive the progress and success of digital projects
  • Explores new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve digital solutions and drive innovation within the development team
  • Develop and implement test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks for APIs, and UI testing.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and data engineers to ensure end-to-end testing of Medicare-related applications.
  • Perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Identify and mitigate risks by proactively managing defects, test coverage, and release readiness.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline engineering processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the quality of deliverables.
  • Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure data accuracy for Medicare enrollment, claims, and policy management.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, actuaries, and business analysts to validate Medicare policy, claims, and financial data for validation
  • Develop and implement test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks for APIs, and UI testing.
  • Creates and maintains documentation, including system functionality, testing strategies, traceability metric, automation framework, Data strategy, and other relevant documentation.
  • Develop and implement test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks for APIs, and UI testing.
  • Perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Optimize and drive adoption of CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps practices to improve testing efficiency.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to align QA efforts with Medicare and Supplemental Insurance business goals.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and cross-functional team collaborations

Required Qualifications
  • 5 years of Experience with Test development
  • 5 years Healthcare Government programs or Medicare experience
  • 5 years' experience with SQL
  • 3+ years of experience developing within an agile development
  • 3+ years' Experience with API Automation - RestAssured with TestNG Framework
  • 3+ years UI Automation - Selenium with TestNG and Hybrid Frameworks

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Medicare regulations and standards

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$72,100.00 - $144,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
