Description
The Systems Engineer will assist in designing and implementing the client's enterprise system infrastructure, resolve advanced support issues, and support shift-based system engineers. They will also help implement security requirements for Windows/Linux OS, VMware vSphere, and other client-specific systems. Candidates should have a proven track record of implementing full-stack storage solutions, networking, fiber channel zoning, and data stores across multiple segments with zero downtime, especially for sensitive applications.
Terms: 6-month contract opportunity with potential for direct hire conversion
Pay scale flexible up to $75/hr for applicants with lead experience

Position Duties & Responsibilities:
Installing and configuring Server Hardware
Collaborate with the Security Team to create and implement Operating System, VMware vSphere security measures.
Assist and Support the Shift Based System Engineers.
Manage and resolve helpdesk tickets related to the Clients Servers, Workstations, and other Clients Specific Systems.
Conduct regular reviews of documentation and processes ensuring all documentation is current.
Ensure the overall Health of the Servers, Workstations and other Clients Specific Systems using the Clients Tools.
Coordinate with the Clients IT department to develop processes and possible IT solutions to enhance the overall performance of the terminal.
Strong communication skills in the English language, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel in high-stress situations. Previous client facing support/experience preferred.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner on multiple tasks or projects, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
High level of professionalism, particularly working with and assisting clients with technical questions and issues.
Ability to produce and maintain documentation of information security systems using a variety of tools (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SharePoint, etc.)
Must meet all requirements to obtain a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
8+ Years Experience in System Admin/Engineering Disciplines
Advanced knowledge of operating systems and Hypervisors including: Windows, Linux, vSphere
Experience with the Storage Area Networks in relation to VMWare vSphere.
Experience with the SolarWinds: SAM, VMAN
Experience with the following Tools: Splunk, VEEAM Backup and Replication, vCenter, PDQ, Atlassian JIRA and Confluence, RedHat SmartManagement, Windows System Update Server.
Experience with the following scripting technologies: Microsoft PowerShell, PowerCLI
Excellent written and verbal communications skills

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
