Special Education Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:
Current New Mexico Special Education Teaching License
Demonstrates cooperativeness and a willingness to carry-out assigned tasks and performance responsibility

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with the state approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and uphold and enforce department/unit rules, administrative directives and regulations, Board Policy, and State and Federal regulations.
Cooperate in the development and implementation of the District program of instruction.
Plan and implement a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and complies with State Department of Education Standards and the Las Vegas City Schools Board of Education goals and objective.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals of the Common Core Standards. In harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, assignments, units and projects, and communicate these objectives to students.
Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives to students.
Establish and maintain standards of appropriate student behavior and discipline needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom and assist in its maintenance on the campus.
