Title: Operations Startup Leader (OSL)

Location: Jefferson - Factory, WI

Duration: 18 months

Description:

Position Overview:

  • The Operations and Start-Up Leader will play a key role in supporting capital projects and initiatives to meet business, schedule, and budget objectives. This position supports the End-to-End Manager and will focus on the operational side of these projects including the evaluation and implementation of business processes, equipment, systems, and technology.
  • A key aspect of this role will be consistent collaboration with both internal and external partners, with the ability to drive actions to completion.
  • The Operations Start-Up Leader works with stakeholders from all business units to analyze, define and document all necessary changes as well as to translate new requirements into processes, standards, and training-related materials for factory users. As the subject matter expert on operational processes, the Operational Start-Up Leader is expected to act as an effective coach for associates at all levels of the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support E2E with coaching and oversight of progress against key milestones and deliverables in alignment with project schedule i.e., development and implementation of Key Standard Routines, TPM readiness, and 5S.
  • Participate in the identification of operational requirements and success criteria development.
  • Track and report on the progress of ramp-up/start-up plans to ensure achievement of business objectives i.e., line performance, safety measures and product qualification.
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate operational preparation, pre-commissioning/commissioning, qualification, verification, and start-up activities.
  • Co-lead commissioning, qualification, verification, and start-up execution & reporting.
  • Consult and track progress against recruiting, staffing, and training.
  • Ensure operational safety is fully considered and escalate operational risks.
  • Collaborate with the project team and operations to ensure line readiness and safety (Machine Risk Assessments, Site Acceptance Testing, HECP/LOTO, SHE and QA/Food Safety Planning).
  • Ensure factory associates are trained and competent to standards prior to start-up.
  • Complete a proactive and effective handover of the project to the operational team including proper documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years business analysis and project management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment OR
  • Associate's degree with 7+ years of project management, and/or business analysis experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment AND
  • 5+ years' experience in early management, operations, and/or a startup environment
  • 5+ years' experience in Project Engineering Management of multi-million dollar capex projects
  • Steel toe shoes are required, and to be provided by the worker at own expense (job requirement).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or equivalent Project Management Professional certification
