Job Description: Tableau Developer
Location: Boston, MA
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Tableau Developer to join our analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating dynamic and insightful Tableau dashboards and reports that support business decision-making. You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, build visualizations, and optimize reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Tableau dashboards and reports based on business needs.
- Connect Tableau to various data sources (SQL, Excel, cloud databases, APIs).
- Translate complex data sets into understandable visual stories for business users.
- Perform data analysis and validation to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing dashboards and reports.
- Ensure performance optimization and scalability of Tableau solutions.
- Implement data security, including row-level security and user permissions.
- Document dashboard designs, data sources, and processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience developing dashboards in Tableau Desktop and publishing to Tableau Server/Cloud.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming data.
- Experience working with large datasets and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and best practices in BI development.
- Knowledge of Tableau Prep, Alteryx, or similar data prep tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for data visualization and UI/UX design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
