Job Title: Network Technician Consultant
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Columbia, SC Fully Onsite
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Project Overview:
An experienced Network/Desktop Support Technician is needed to assist with desktop support, system configuration, and technical documentation for a fully onsite position in Columbia, SC. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems, and be capable of clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide tiered technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and MDM-managed iPhones.
Maintain and configure computer hardware, software, and network connections with minimal supervision.
Document technical and user processes; create user guides and support materials.
Deliver user and technical training, including live and recorded sessions.
Monitor and report on system threats such as malware, ransomware, bots, and other cyber threats.
Assist with Active Directory (AD) administration: user updates, password resets, group management.
Perform system updates using SCCM.
Manage and support inventory processes for IT assets, including new hardware setup and deployment.
Troubleshoot connectivity and network access issues from endpoint to switch.
Update service tickets and provide escalation support when needed.
Coordinate IT support across various agency locations in the state.

Required Skills (Ranked by Importance):
Enterprise-level desktop support experience
Strong troubleshooting skills for desktops, printers, network connectivity, and MDM iPhones
Advanced knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows 10 administration
Effective customer service and communication (phone, email, and in-person)
Ability to work independently both remotely and onsite
Experience with Active Directory and SCCM for user/system updates
Exposure to networking, virtualization, databases, and storage systems
Proficiency with Windows 10/11 Enterprise, GPO (Group Policy Objects)
Familiarity with VoIP, Windows Server 2019, and Microsoft 365

Education Requirements:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
