Job Details



A top Fortune 50 financial services company is seeking a highly motivated Network Implementation Engineer to work fully onsite in Vienna, VA. This individual will support a large-scale Cisco switch replacement project across over 200 branch locations globally, providing hands-on network technical support and coordinating migration efforts across multiple time zones.


About the Opportunity:



  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

  • Shift: 4pm to 12am

  • Setting: Full-time, onsite in Vienna, VA

  • Training Requirement: 2-week onboarding, Monday through Friday (10am to 6:30pm EST)

  • Additional Expectations: Occasional overtime required for Saturday migrations or overrun past midnight


Responsibilities:



  • Performing Cisco switch configurations, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting

  • Monitoring system performance using network tools and applications

  • Responding to alerts and alarms, resolving network issues before or after migrations

  • Creating and managing service and change tickets for migrations

  • Coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and onsite support across multiple time zones

  • Maintaining, configuring, and performing preventative maintenance on network equipment

  • Managing network circuits at remote sites (turnup, turndown, troubleshooting)

  • Troubleshooting escalated issues and documenting technical procedures

  • Working closely with remote hands and branch support during migrations

  • Assisting with other tasks as assigned


Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience supporting Cisco network infrastructure (routers, switches, VLANs)

  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies and protocols (e.g., EIGRP, BGP, TCP/IP, Metro Ethernet)

  • Prior experience managing large-scale network equipment migrations across multiple sites

  • Hands-on experience configuring branch office networking circuits, VLANs, and WAPs

  • Skilled in using service management tools to manage incident and change tickets

  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure


Desired Skills:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field

  • CCNA or CCNP certification

  • Experience presenting technical solutions and recommendations

  • Advanced skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues

  • Familiarity with ticketing tools and ITSM frameworks

  • Knowledge of electronics and how they apply to troubleshooting IT systems

  • Solid understanding of hardware/software interdependencies in IT environments
